Siesta Key, Florida (8/2024)

     I took a week off from my blog to go to Siesta Key, Florida with 18 members of my family. We had such a fun trip. To start, we had a large yellow school bus stop at two of our houses, where our parties had gathered. After we landed and got to our condo, we were able to go grocery shopping before it started to downpour. We did some unpacking and ate dinner and by 7:30 or so we were able to get outside and see a rainbow and a sunset. We did have two days of rain from Tropical Storm Debbie but we played Cards Against Humanity (kids version) and had a large spaghetti and meatball dinner which helped pass the time. The rest of the trip we had beautiful sunshine and no rain. We found a few shark teeth at our beach and the boys went boogie boarding. The water was a little rough but everyone still managed to have fun. Everyday, there was a small group of us that went on morning walks. We took sunset walks too. We went to a drum circle at Nokomis beach as we missed our beach's drum circle due to the storm. We took some time to look for shark teeth before we sat near the circle. Some of our party got a chance to play the drums which was cool. We also went to Venice to look for shark teeth. Some of us had gone the day before and the waves were so rough and there was a bunch of seaweed so it was hard to use the Florida shovels. But we managed to find them washing up. The second day we went, almost everyone came. Not everyone stayed the same length of time. The Florida shovels came in handy that day. We had fun and I got in the water there and it was a beautiful day.  We took a family photo later that day, as is the tradition. We have taken a large family trip to Siesta Key, two times prior. After our family photo we went out souvenir shopping. We spent our last day eating a large pancake breakfast at my parents condo and then we all went to the beach. It was a great trip!
